AM I WELCOME IF ...
No ifs, ands, buts about it. All are welcome!
WHICH SERVICE SHOULD I ATTEND?
First Pres offers two opportunities to worship each Sunday morning from September through May. If singing and handbell choirs and a large pipe organ inspire you, come to worship at 9:00 am. If you can't imagine church without electric guitars, drums, and keyboards, come to worship at 10:30 am. You will be encouraged to participate fully in worship through music and prayer, hear a practical biblical message with real life application, and be challenged to grow in your faith. At 10:00 am you can grab a cup of coffee, or tea, and a bite to eat in the Social Hall, and get to know some of the First Pres family. From Memorial Day to Labor Day we worship at 10:00 am.
WHERE DO I PARK?
First Pres is located at 7551 Quick Avenue, one block north of Lake Street between Lathrop and Jackson, in River Forest. There is a parking lot on the south side of the building and abundant street parking near the church.
Where do my kids go?
As a family-friendly congregation, First Pres encourages people of all ages to grow in their faith, and all ages are welcome in worship. In addition, there are Christian education options for children and youth during the 9:00 am service and children through grade 5 and adults during the 10:30 am service. A staffed nursery is also available. Ushers will help you find the option that best meets your needs.
ARE THERE ACCESSIBILITY OPTIONS?
The First Pres building is fully accessible. An elevator, reached through the center door off the parking lot, provides access to all levels. A.D.A. restrooms are near the elevator on all three floors. The Sanctuary including the chancel is designed to accommodate wheelchairs. Service dogs are welcome. A T-coil hearing loop system offers hearing assistance and large print bulletins, Bibles, and hymnals are available.
